Welcome to FRSCA, French Resources for the SCA!
The French version is meant to be a tool to give francophones an access to information, allowing them to participate. It can also help passionates who want to use the beautiful language of Molière, to allow the use of French in an SCA context (for calligraphers and illuminators in their scrolls, or for personas of French origin, and so on.
In the not-so-short term, the English version will be upcoming. Instead of being a reverse translation from French to English (what's the point in offering here an English document when English readers can access the original document? ;^) ), it will be meant to help English readers with the use of French terms in an SCA context.
This website is essentially focused on the East Kingdom. However, the Kingdom of Drachenwald also has a significant amount of francophones; it is not impossible that a cooperation may stem from this.
"French Resources" has been made possible by the work of many people:
- the founder of FRSCA, Master Godfroy de Falaise, OP;
- the participants of the mailing list SCA-Traductions, now SCA_frenchtrans, who asked questions and searched answers, discussed possibilities and helped refine options; they fueled and fed the content of FRSCA;
- the volunteers who helped translating documents;
- and all those who helped revising the translations, supported (thanks Alix!) and made this website known.
A heartfelt "thank you" goes out to these people (you know who you are).
The mailing list SCA_frenchtrans relays SCA-Traductions which has been closed. SCA_frenchtrans gathers people who have an interest for this topic, people who can contribute to further this monk's work and people who have competences to do so.
